Clinical Specialist in Mental Health

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Clinician to join our Specialized Services department.
As a Clinician, you will be responsible for providing primary therapeutic, case management, and mental health and substance use support services for assigned clients. This includes providing services in hospital, residential, or community settings, as required, in accordance with care plans agreed to by the inter-professional clinical team, the individual, and family.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessment and Treatment: Complete initial and ongoing client assessments using clinical and diagnostic reasoning.
- Teaching: Teach clients and others in one-on-one and group settings.
- Culturally Safe and Trauma Informed Care: Create culturally safe, trauma-informed healthcare settings through individualized care planning and collaborative approaches to service provision.
- Management: Organize work, set objectives, and establish priorities, while managing time and resources, and implementing activities to promote cooperation among the interdisciplinary team.
Requirements:
- Baccalaureate degree in a mental health and substance use related discipline, plus two years of recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Knowledge of the BC Mental Health Act, including Section 28, Directors Warrants, and Extended Leave.
- Competence and confidence in common mental health and substance use related risk assessments and behavioural care planning.
