Private Banking Officer, Sales Expert

About the Role:This Private Banking Officer role is a key contributor to delivering an exceptional customer experience to private banking clients. You'll provide a superior level of courteous, knowledgeable, and professional service to all existing and potential clients, demonstrating a comprehensive knowledge of products. Your expertise will help you recognize the appropriate time to proactively identify and discuss clients' needs, working collaboratively with the branch and regional teams to identify and make referrals. Ensuring compliance and operational effectiveness is also a crucial aspect of this role.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist in preparing new business proposals or presentations to clients/prospects, showcasing your skills in relationship selling techniques.
- IDentify customer needs and match them with appropriate products or services, including making referrals to other BMO employees.
- Recommend workflow process alternatives that can lead to improved efficiency and service levels.
- Determine client needs and ensure timely and accurate completion of transaction processing.
- Tackle client inquiries/concerns/complaints, ensuring timely resolution and referring as appropriate.
- Maintain a detailed knowledge and understanding of integrated private banking services and offerings, as well as a strategic grasp of the business direction.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver on business objectives.
- Analyze data and information to provide insights and recommendations.
- Review overdraft and other monitoring reports with Private Bankers and take action accordingly.
- Strive to exceed client service standards, maximizing relationship retention and growth.
- Develop rapport and instill confidence with clients, establishing credibility and trust.
- Provide timely, accurate service and support to Private Bankers by completing a wide range of credit, non-credit, and related activities.
- Adhere to all banking, investment, and lending regulations, policies, procedures, legal, and ethical requirements, process requirements, bank guidelines, and established risk guidelines.
- Follow security and safeguarding procedures and apply due diligence for the prevention of loss due to fraud, counterfeiting, money laundering, or defalcation, in accordance with Bank policy.
- Participate in audits and compliance reviews as assigned.
- Identify and escalate all irregularities and discrepancies to management.
- A minimum of 2 – 3 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in a related field of study, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must meet the licensing and certification requirements for the team/branch/jurisdiction where the mandate is being fulfilled.
- Working knowledge of personal (primarily) and commercial credit and non-credit products, monitoring/operational processes, and applications.
- BASIC knowledge of the Lending Process and supporting policies.
- BASIC knowledge of loan and security documentation, including registration and renewal routine.
- SPECIALIZED knowledge.

$35,700 - $66,100 per annum
