Woodworking Specialist

We are seeking an experienced woodworker to join our team at Black Bear Builders. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in carpentry and construction, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

This is a permanent position with a salary range of $45,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience. The successful candidate will be working 30-44 hours per week.

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements
• Prepare layouts according to building codes using measuring tools
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials
• Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems
• Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, moldings, and hardware
• Utilize hand and power tools
• Transport materials and tools to and from work areas
• Load, unload, and transport construction materials
• Inspect workplaces for safety or health hazards
• Cut materials using power tools or by hand

• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
• Valid driver's license

• Experience working in a multidisciplinary environment
• Knowledge of building codes and regulations
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings
