Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at Fraser Health Authority. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will be responsible for providing assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of communication and swallowing disorders in patients. You will work collaboratively with our interprofessional care team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans that promote optimal health outcomes.

Responsibilities
  1. Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' communication and swallowing abilities, including reviewing medical records, gathering information, and performing examinations.
  2. Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans that address patients' communication and swallowing needs, including providing education and training to patients and caregivers.
  3. Collaborate with the interprofessional care team to develop and implement individualized care plans that promote optimal health outcomes.
  4. Evaluate and document the effectiveness of interventions, including conducting ongoing assessments and monitoring patient responses.
  5. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to speech language pathology services.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Current registration with the College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of BC (CSHBC).
  • Knowledge of speech language pathology theory and practice within a patient and family-centered model of care.
  • Knowledge of the CSHBC standards of practice and practice guidelines for clinical practitioners.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with patients, caregivers, and members of the interprofessional care team.
  • Ability to work independently and in collaboration with others.
