Job SummaryWe're seeking an experienced Assistant Manager to join our team. As an Assistant Manager, you'll be responsible for supporting the Manager in achieving A&W's restaurant objectives. This includes developing an outstanding restaurant staff team, employing team process skills, and generating performance that exceeds guest expectations.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain key internal and external relationships with other members of the management team, A&W Business Manager, restaurant guests, suppliers, and representatives from the Health & Safety Board, Fire Department, and Labour Board.
- Assist in the management of a fast-paced, guest-focused business, ensuring an excellent working climate.
- Read financial statements to the Operating Margin line.
- Select, train, and develop people to achieve business objectives.
- Work in a fast-paced environment.
- Work in a diverse environment with many different personalities and attitudes.
- Work together as partners, as a cohesive unit with co-workers.
- Work with hot products and equipment.
- Work with cleaning materials and chemicals.
- Work in a noisy environment.
- Work with sharp objects (knives, slicers, etc.).
- Use of portable or step ladder may be required.
- Stand for an extended period of time (up to 8 hours).
- Lift heavy boxes when dealing with product inventory (max 50 lbs.).
- Engage in repetitive tasks such as preparing/assembling orders and products and regular cleaning of restaurant facility.
- Maintain good personal hygiene and appropriate uniform.
- Handle stressful situations.
- Hold a valid driver's license.
