Compliance Specialist: Ensuring Regulatory Excellence

We are seeking a highly skilled Compliance Specialist to join our team at PearTree Canada. As a key member of our compliance department, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our business operations and transactions adhere to all relevant legal and internal rules.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of securities regulatory compliance and experience working with EMD or IIROC dealers in a compliance or related capacity. You will be responsible for maintaining and updating new client account application and KYC forms, preparing trade approval forms for compliance sign-off, and liaising with other departments to resolve account application and suitability deficiencies.

In addition to your technical skills, you will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide guidance and training to employees on legal compliance matters. You will also stay up-to-date with all CSA/AML policies and procedures as they relate to our dealer registration.

Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per year (dependent on experience)

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • BSc/BA in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum 3 years experience working for an EMD or IIROC dealer in a compliance or related capacity
  • Knowledge of Flow Through Shares and risk management principles
  • Intermediate level of proficiency in MS Suite, with emphasis on Excel
