Clinical Operations Leader

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Leader of Operations to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the efficient and effective operation of the Pediatric Day Surgery & Recovery Room, and Pre-op Clinic.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate patient care by following NAPAN standards.
- Collaborate with the Dept.'s of Anaesthesia and Surgery, as well as OR Leadership on day-to-day utilization of OR block and waitlist time.
- Provide leadership within the team structure.
- Participate in the identification of capital equipment and budget requirements.
- Serve as a mentor and clinical resource to staff.
- Provide feedback and coaching.
- Update staff concerning committee meetings and learning opportunities in collaboration with the Clinical Leader of Development.
- Promote an environment for learning.
- Coordinate and facilitate staff meetings.
- Coordinate quality improvement and risk management activities in collaboration with the Clinical Leader of Development.
- Anticipate and address immediate and long-term staffing needs.
- Participate in the completion of initiating and assisting in the hiring process.
- Support staff scheduling in coordination with Manager and Staffing Coordinator.
- Work within budget parameters to meet needs for staff, education, equipment, professional development, etc.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and be registered with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing. A minimum of 3 years recent Pediatric Perioperative Care Unit experience is required, as well as current successful completion of a Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada Basic Life Support Level (BLS) Program within the last 12 months. CAN Peri-anesthesia Certification is preferred.
The successful candidate will demonstrate visionary leadership, expert problem-solving, and sound judgment skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as well as the ability to lead in a busy, fast-paced environment. Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
