A Registered Echocardiography Sonographer is a vital member of our healthcare team at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre. This role requires a high level of expertise in performing thorough and accurate ultrasound examinations of the heart and supporting structures.

Key Responsibilities:


• Conduct echocardiography examinations on inpatients and outpatients in accordance with established standards of practice.


• Assist with transesophageal, stress echo, pericardiocentesis, and contrast studies as required.


• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective patient care.


• Maintain a high level of professionalism and respect for colleagues and patients.


• Participate in ongoing education and professional development to stay current with industry advancements.

Requirements:


• Graduate of an accredited Echo Sonographer Program with a clinical component.


• Successful completion of the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers echocardiography and cardiac ultrasound physics examinations.


• Current BCLS certification.


• Active membership in good standing with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) and the Canadian Association of Registered Diagnostic Ultrasound Professionals.


• 1-3 years of experience as a Registered Echocardiography Technologist.
