Overview

The University of Waterloo's Information Systems & Technology (IST) department provides cutting-edge technology and services to support teaching, learning, research, and administrative needs across campus. Within IST, the Enterprise Systems (ES) team delivers technical support for various information systems, including Workday human resource management and Unit4 financial systems.

As an IT Product Manager for Enterprise Systems, you will collaborate with colleagues in ES and partners across campus to analyze business and functional requirements, delivering solutions impacting users of the ES suite of applications, primarily Workday. Your key responsibilities will include developing and maintaining a product roadmap, aligning stakeholder priorities with product and overall IT strategy.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • Collaborating with ES team members and campus partners to analyze business and functional requirements
  • Developing and maintaining a product roadmap, aligning stakeholder priorities with product and overall IT strategy
  • Knowledge of product management practices, software development tools, and practices, documentation, and knowledgebase development, client service, and stakeholder management
Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A university degree or equivalent education and experience
  • Certification in product management, project management, or business analysis is preferred
  • Systems analysis skills, experience implementing and supporting complex information systems, and experience with SaaS platforms such as Workday
  • Understanding of general software development principles and Systems Development Lifecycle
  • Experience with project and issue tracking, including agile development approaches and tools (Scrum, Jira)
  • Experience with wiki and/or knowledgebase tools (Confluence, SharePoint)

This role requires excellent interpersonal, customer service, communication, organizational, research, and analytical skills, with proven ability to interact with co-workers, clients, and third-party vendors with tact and diplomacy. You must be able to build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, and clients. The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $120,000 per year.
