Job Title: Project Manager

Job Summary:

Hitachi Rail STS Inc is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager to lead our design work packages on schedule and in accordance with the planned budget. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading work packet Project Monitoring and Control activities including maintaining schedule, CTC, MPR updates, meeting minutes, risk register, and change orders.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Achieve the delivery of design work packages on schedule and in accordance with the planned budget.
  2. Lead work packet Project Monitoring and Control activities including maintaining schedule, CTC, MPR updates, meeting minutes, risk register, and change orders.
  3. Prioritize and monitor software problem report status, and execute tasks within functional areas that includes engineering and software development activities.
  4. Facilitate scope/requirement discussions with technical teams and customer.
  5. Participate in optimal overall project technical solution.
  6. Understand and integrate applicable CMMI, CENELEC, AREMA, IEEE, IPC, etc standards.
  7. Ensure that project objectives are communicated to the project team and monitors that all technical project activities are aligned with the project schedule.
  8. Ensure that correct Configuration Management (including document management and transmittal process) is always in place.

Requirements:

  1. Minimum 3-5 years' experience as project engineer or lead systems/software engineer for large software control system applications.
  2. Prior experience with basic Project Management including maintaining and controlling budget, resource and task management.
  3. Extensive understanding and/or prior experience with software development lifecycles, delivery, and HW/SW integration lifecycle.
  4. Strong prior experience with Microsoft Office suite, scheduling software (MS Project or Primavera), requirements management systems, and software configuration tools.
  5. Prior experience managing small-medium sized projects and project teams.
  6. Demonstrated ability to lead, engage, and manage tasking of cross-functional teams of varying skills/experience.
  7. Success with multi-tasking across multiple projects at given time.
  8. Builds effective relationships and has exceptional communication and leadership skills.
  9. Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  10. Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering or Information Technology Qualifications/University Degree or Equivalent Technical Background.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Prefer rail or rail transit domain experience, but not required.
  2. Familiar with Hitachi Rail STS products, technology, and project deliverables.
  3. Prefer prior experience supporting Bids and Proposals for new work.
  4. Experience with overall systems architecture design.
  5. Experience with robust, mission critical control systems.
  6. Experience with providing leadership in either a functional management or project management role.

Education:

  1. Bachelor's Degree.
