The Strategic Healthcare Project Director will provide leadership to a multi-disciplined team, planning and managing projects to ensure timely and budget-friendly delivery of large-scale healthcare projects. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal and leadership skills, paired with solid financial acumen to determine required resources, monitor project performance, and forecast revenue.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate, develop, monitor, and control the scope of deliverables, work plans, schedules, and budgets for all project stages.
  • Work with Operations Manager to determine project staffing needs and recommend team members, coordinating staffing and workload through the entire project life cycle to ensure completion of deliverables on schedule.
  • Develop a detailed work plan for all architectural disciplines, allocate hours to the work plan, and monitor project progress.
  • Lead an integrated team of architects in quality assurance and quality control procedures for all deliverables, specifically construction drawings and specifications.
  • Coordinate with contractors, sub-consultants, and/or relevant building authorities to address and document issues with constructability or owner concerns.
  • Act as primary liaison with the client, contractor, and project team to maintain close client relationships.
  • Manage team hours on the project.
  • Manage business plans using Deltek, BST, etc.
  • Approve sub-consultant invoices and prepare B+H invoices to clients.
  • Issue project fee adjustments.
  • Prepare sub-consultant contracts.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of architectural project work experience.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in large complex projects.
  • Client management and business plan management experience.
  • Familiarity with PMI framework and standard industry practices for project management.
  • Architectural systems design and presentation, permit, and building code experience.
  • Experience in strategic development, project management, and client management is required.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal skills, flexibility, and resourcefulness.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A strong understanding of project accounting to monitor project performance and forecast revenue.
  • Registered with a relevant professional association is an asset.
  • PMP certification is an asset.
  • Experience with BST and/or Deltek is an asset.

Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per year (based on location and experience)
