Paramedic - Primary Care

About the Role:
As a Primary Care Paramedic with Alberta Health Services, you will play a vital role in providing patient-centered care to individuals in need. Your expertise will be essential in assessing emergency scenes, treating patients, and transporting them to medical facilities. You will work collaboratively with healthcare teams to ensure seamless care and communication.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess emergency scenes and patients, providing timely and effective care
- Transport patients to medical facilities, ensuring safe and efficient transportation
- Administer medications, perform basic life support, and use semi-automated defibrillation as needed
- Lead BLS crews in delivering clinical care during patient transport or at emergency scenes
- Ensure ambulances and EMS vehicles are properly stocked and equipped
Requirements:
- Non-restricted registration in good standing with the Alberta College of Paramedics (ACOP)
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP)
- Valid class 4 Alberta Operator License or equivalent
- Five-year driver abstract with no more than six demerits
- Successful completion of the Functional Abilities Recruitment Evaluation (FARE)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum 6 months experience working as a posted designation in EMS frontline operations
- Current, relevant experience as an AHS employee working in Metro EMS, dedicated Intra-facility transport, and Suburban/Rural EMS
