About the Role

The Workers' Compensation Claims Department plays a crucial role in generating Employer Report of Injury forms and providing ongoing claims management support. As an Occupational Disability Management Specialist, you will facilitate early and safe return-to-work programs, liaise with stakeholders, and develop strategies to ensure compliance with applicable legislation.

In this position, you will be responsible for:

  • Facilitating disability management and return-to-work programs in multiple provinces for occupational injuries and illnesses;
  • Liaising with Workers' Compensation (WC) Return to Work Specialists, Physicians, Unit Managers, Unions, and injured associates;
  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining the WC Disability Management Program;
  • Creating and monitoring Early Safe Return-to-Work (ESRTW) programs;
  • Filing Workers' Compensation Employer Reports and supporting documentation within legislated timelines;
  • Managing an active caseload using Origami Risk Management Software;
  • Initiating and following up on formal requests for cost relief regarding prolonged claims;
  • Providing supervisory training on occupational return-to-work procedures, ergonomics, and claims management.

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • A relevant university or college degree in HR, Labour, Health and Safety, Kinesiology, or Disability Management fields;
  • At least 5 years of experience in claims management and return-to-work facilitation;
  • Strong knowledge of Workers' Compensation operational policies and Human Rights legislation;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.

About Our Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $85,000 - $110,000 per year, commensurate with experience, and a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision coverage, as well as a generous pension plan.
