Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pension Benefits Specialist Associate to join our team at Ontario Teachers'. As a key member of our Member Services department, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, processing pension benefits, and working closely with our team to deliver outstanding results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to members, pensioners, and other beneficiaries, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Process pension benefits in accordance with plan terms and applicable legislation, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Review client files, assess eligible benefit scenarios, and provide counseling and support to members.
  • Respond to member inquiries regarding benefit questions, general pension information, and requests for web support and updates to personal information.
  • Perform sophisticated benefit calculations, researching and applying relevant methods to ensure accuracy.
  • Meet with clients in person for one-on-one interviews and appointments, interpreting and assessing client needs and eligibility requirements.

Requirements

  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, listening, and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and timeliness.
  • Flexibility, dependability, tact, and diplomacy are required.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and online applications.
  • Relevant university degree and/or client service experience required.
