The Role

We are seeking a Part-Time Medical Receptionist to join our team at our busy clinic in Markham. As a Medical Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing a positive service experience and ensuring that all tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients and visitors, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a courteous and empathetic manner.
  • Manage patient check-ins, departures, and phone calls, ensuring that all necessary information is collected and recorded accurately.
  • Register patients, obtain demographics, insurance information, and consent, and schedule appointments and follow-ups.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, scan documents into patient charts, and ensure that all required forms and documentation are completed.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to provide and gather information, enabling patient requirements to be dealt with efficiently.
  • Complete MRI bookings administration tasks, including confirmations, chart checks, and phone calls.
Requirements
  • 1 year of medical office experience.
  • Cardiology practice and clinic experience is an asset.
  • Education/diploma in medical office administration.
  • Demonstrated high-quality, compassionate, customer-centered experience.
  • Proven ability to work proficiently and independently in a busy, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to establish priorities and achieve objectives with minimal supervision.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Superior telephone etiquette.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology.
  • Proficiency in technology, including MS Office and EMR systems.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to deal with sensitive information with a high degree of privacy and diplomacy.
  • Team orientation.
