Safety/Project Manager – Construction

Emterra Group is a dynamic and growth-oriented organization that prioritizes safety and customer service. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Safety/Project Manager – Construction to join our Safety Team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in establishing a proactive safety culture and lead the implementation of safety programs, systems, and initiatives for construction projects.
  • Provide leadership and support to operational managers and supervisors to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with health and safety requirements and address any safety issues that arise.
  • Investigate incidents and develop corrective action plans to prevent future occurrences.
  • Develop and implement construction procedures to enhance safety and operational efficiency.
  • Manage and update the construction safety program to ensure compliance with applicable safety legislation.
  • Support branch teams in managing contractor safety and maintain accurate records that meet regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a health and safety role or construction/project management role.
  • CRSP designation or in the process of certification is an asset.
  • Strong legislative expertise with respect to the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Proven ability to coach and influence, with excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience working with management in both unionized and non-unionized environments.
  • Experience with safety committees, auditing, training, and implementing best practices.
