Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Safety Specialist to support our industrial site operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure subcontractors implement and comply with their safety plans and site policies.
- Conduct field inspections, document control, and provide guidance on safety-related issues.
- Coordinate emergency medical services, inventory control of basic PPE, and conduct site orientations.
- Represent the SH&E manager on project or program worksites.
- Administer job safety programs, audit, and inspect job sites to detect and correct safety hazards.
- Monitor the safety performance of construction operations in assigned job site areas.
- Assist with accident record analysis.
- Conduct new hire safety orientations, daily safety huddles, and weekly toolbox training.
Requirements:
- Experience on industrial sites or mines.
- Involvement with Joint Health and Safety Committees.
- CSO/NCSO certification or working towards a OH&S Certificate/Diploma.
- Extensive knowledge of Canadian safety and health regulations, acts, and reporting requirements.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Able to conduct field inspections.
- Level knowledge of federal and territorial SH&E regulations and reporting procedures.
