About the Opportunity
The Radiological Technologist is responsible for the delivery of patient-centered care while operating radiological/accessory equipment with minimal supervision, exercising independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative. The Radiological Technologist performs a variety of diagnostic or therapeutic procedures requiring the use of ionizing radiation, applying the ALARA principle, while continuously remaining responsive to and responsible for each patient in their care.
Responsibilities
- Deliver patient-centered care while operating radiological/accessory equipment with minimal supervision.
- Perform a variety of diagnostic or therapeutic procedures requiring the use of ionizing radiation.
- Apply the ALARA principle while continuously remaining responsive to and responsible for each patient in their care.
- Communicate effectively in a multidisciplinary/interdisciplinary environment while fostering a culture of safety in the workplace.
Requirements
- Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Radiological Technology.
- Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) certification.
- Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP) licensure.
- Previous experience is an asset.
- Qualification to work in more than one Diagnostic Imaging modality is an asset.
- Basic Life Support Certification.
- Ability to use time effectively by organizing and prioritizing duties, while working independently and under minimal supervision.
- Possess the physical capabilities to perform the duties of the position.
- Demonstrates initiative, organizational, and prioritizing skills; and the demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within inter-professional teams.
- Comprehension of the technical language in order to be able to review and use manuals and take part in relevant discussions.
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred.
What We Offer
- Permanent full-time position; 75 hours biweekly.
- Shift work and call required, evenings, nights, and weekends.
- $30.83 - $37.54 hourly.
