Job Summary:
We seek an experienced Trade Compliance Expert to join our team in Markham, ON. This role involves developing, implementing, managing, and maintaining customs compliance procedures to ensure SHEIN adheres to Canadian importing and exporting regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Stay updated on Canadian trade regulations, providing guidance and advice to relevant stakeholders.
- Interpret trade regulations, conduct assessments, and prepare guidance documents for internal teams.
- Manage daily customs broker operations by creating and updating procedure manuals.
- Review monthly KPIs and recommend improvements to management.
- Assess business risks, consider trade compliance directives, implement controls, and monitor their effectiveness.
- Ensure SHEIN complies with all licensing, notification, and record-keeping requirements related to trade regulations.
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure accurate classification.
- Act as a subject matter expert on trade compliance directives and publications.
- Support the Regional Director of Trade Compliance on Canada-specific matters.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, International Trade, Business, Law, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in trade compliance, preferably in e-commerce, consumer goods, and apparel industries.
- Certified Customs Specialist or Trade Compliance certification is beneficial.
- In-depth understanding of HTS classification, General Rules of Interpretation, and Advance Ruling processes.
- Comprehensive knowledge of customs regulations and government agency requirements.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to explain complex concepts in a clear manner.
Estimated Salary Range: $85,000-$110,000 per annum.
