About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer to join our Fernie Municipal Team as a Project Engineer. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and delivering municipal engineering projects that have a lasting impact on our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and prepare sanitary, storm, and water servicing design drawings, briefs, and reports
  • Develop grading and servicing plans for site and land development projects
  • Design road and utility alignments, existing and proposed grade profiles, and cross-sections
  • Prepare cost estimates and associated summaries
  • Prepare tender and contract documents, including notice to tenderers, instruction to tenderers, tender form, supplementary general conditions, special provisions, and detailed specifications
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects
  • Review and confirm progress claims quantities
  • Visit construction sites to monitor progress and ensure compliance with contract documents
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with an E.I.T. or P.Eng. designation (or eligibility to become registered as a P.Eng. or E.I.T.)
  • 2+ years of design experience in municipal engineering, including lot grading, roads, drainage, water distribution, and sewer
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Excel
  • Experience with MMCD documents
  • Topographic survey and/or construction stakeout
