About the Opportunity

Our client is seeking a skilled Accounting Manager to lead their public accounting practice.



Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and vision for the firm's growth and development.
  • Mentor and develop staff, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Identify additional services for clients to help grow their businesses, such as advisory on financial planning and business strategy.
  • Present yourself as a professional and trustworthy leader to both clients and staff.
  • Review and ensure accuracy of junior staff's work, financial statements, and tax compliance filings.
  • Lead multiple client-facing engagement teams and manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring their needs are met and identifying opportunities for additional services.
  • Execute engagements to the highest level of client service, including collaborating with client teams to discuss roles, responsibilities, risk areas, and deadlines.


About You

  • CPA designation required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in public accounting practice.
  • LPA designation or ability to obtain designation within a few months.
  • Proficient in using QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, CaseWare, and Tax prep.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and other MS Office products.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing teams, building relationships, and leading effectively.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Ability to mentor staff and develop their professional skills.
  • Ambitious and driven to achieve success and growth for the firm.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong business development skills with the ability to source and attract the right clients.
  • Ability to conduct comprehensive tax planning and advisory services, minimizing tax liabilities for clients while ensuring compliance for corporate and personal tax clients.
  • Expertise in preparing and reviewing financial statements.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, including the latest changes and their implications for clients.
  • Expertise in overseeing booking and payroll processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
