About the Role

The Registered Nurse (RN) is a key member of our care team, responsible for coordinating and supervising the activities and duties of those who deliver direct resident care. As a leader in our nursing team, you will be the role model and team player who ensures the highest quality of care for our residents.

Responsibilities
  • Assess residents' needs and implement individualized care plans to maximize their quality of life.
  • Supervise and direct the work of care staff, ensuring that resident-focused care is provided and resident rights are observed.
  • Administer medications and treatments as per established standards, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Coordinate and supervise care staff, directing their work and assigning duties as necessary to ensure resident-focused care is provided.
  • Provide clinical direction to community care staff and participate in the orientation of new employees.
  • Perform community audits and correlate data to submit to the Director of Care or designate.
  • Participate in meetings, committees, and educational in-services to stay up-to-date on best practices and industry developments.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Graduate of an approved program for Nursing and holds a current license with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) as an RN.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing an asset.
  • Valid Occupational First Aid Level 1 certification and CPR.
  • Successful annual Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) competency testing.
  • Previous experience in a long-term care facility an asset.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently and understand verbal and written instructions.
  • Computer skills including the ability to navigate basic computer programs such as Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Ability to push, pull, stoop, crouch, lift, and carry up to 25 lbs.
