About the Role

Coast Capital Savings is seeking an experienced Facilities Maintenance Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Facilities Management (FM) Group, you will be responsible for maintaining the integrity and functionality of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Review and authorize invoices for materials and services within approved limits.
  2. Ensure weekly and monthly reports and documents are submitted on time and in a legible manner.
  3. Keep the Maintenance Request reports and the Facilities Management Program current and up to date.
  4. Report the status of FM renovation projects you are coordinating.
  5. Provide professional and friendly service to internal employees and sub-tenants at CCS locations.
  6. Assist customers in assessing facilities issues and problems and work with them to resolve them.
  7. Return messages from internal or external customers, landlords, property managers, and contacts in a timely manner and per corporate standards.
  8. Be on call on a 24/7 rotational basis to support the organization's need to protect its assets and attend after-hours emergencies.
  9. Prioritize routine service requests to best suit customer requirements while ensuring work is prompt, efficient, accurate, and within approved budget and schedule.
  10. Liaise with office, branch staff, and sub-tenants to ensure work is completed satisfactorily.
  11. Correct defects or deficiencies in physical assets by directly repairing the problem or coordinating the repair with the appropriate trade person.
  12. Source and negotiate goods and services required to complete service requests while considering cost efficiency.
  13. Perform day-to-day maintenance and repair functions such as replacing light fixtures and ballasts, recycling, moving furniture, and performing general repairs.
  14. Plan and schedule FM branch and office space renovations.
  15. Coordinate the services of contractors and tradespeople to carry out repairs and various work components for FM projects.
  16. Coordinate with the local branch manager or office manager to minimize repair work disruptions and accommodate customer service during projects.
  17. Source and negotiate goods and services required to complete FM renovation projects while considering cost efficiency.
  18. Operate equipment safely and securely, as prescribed by Coast Capital Savings policy and by various regulatory agencies.
  19. Ensure all workplace hazards and hazardous materials policies and regulations are adhered to.
  20. In all FM projects and repair activities, ensure staff, customer, and public safety at all times.

Requirements

  1. Minimum 4 years of FM or Trades experience.
  2. High School Diploma plus completion of a Certificate Program (equivalent to one full year or 10 courses).
  3. Recognized training courses in technical skills and trades that apply to Facilities Management and Building Operations.
  4. A valid British Columbia Driver's License, possessing and maintaining a responsible and safe driving record.
  5. Broad construction or Facilities maintenance-related work experience.
  6. Self-starter who can work with minimal supervision.
  7. Good judgement and decision-making skills for resolving maintenance and repair-related issues within a fast-paced, demanding environment.
  8. Must demonstrate patience and tact, maintaining a professional manner at all times.
  9. Must have the ability to deal cooperatively and communicate effectively with people in a wide variety of circumstances.
