East Canada Business Development Lead

Royal Bank of Canada seeks a seasoned professional to lead the development of its East Canada business. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for driving growth and expansion in this critical market.
About the RoleThe ideal candidate will have a proven track record in sales and leadership, with experience working with CIRO Dealer Members. They will possess strong relationship management skills, a deep understanding of capital markets, and the ability to travel frequently.
In this role, you will work closely with the Managing Director, Regional Sales, Eastern Canada, to develop and execute the regional sales plan. You will lead a team of 7 territories, ensuring alignment within and across teams, and foster a culture of collaboration and innovation.
The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker with excellent problem-solving skills, able to make informed decisions in response to fast-paced change. They will be fluent in English and French, with a strong presence that commands respect.
Key Responsibilities- Achieve accelerated growth of Advisor Channel assets and sales over the next 3-5 years
- Develop and execute the regional sales plan in partnership with the Managing Director, Regional Sales, Eastern Canada
- Lead 7 territories, ensuring alignment within and across teams
- Foster a talent pipeline, including developing Business Development Associates
- Hire, coach, and retain top sales talent
- Mentor and develop employees through call coaching, call shadowing, and sharing best practices
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Bilingualism (English and French) required
- Proven track record in sales and/or sales leadership, including experience with CIRO Dealer Members
- Demonstrated experience in coaching and leading high-performing teams
- Growth mindset, ability to make informed decisions in response to fast-paced change
- Technical knowledge of capital markets and deep understanding of mutual funds, ETFs, models, and segregated funds
