Accessibility Advisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Accessibility Advisor to join our Mental Health Team at the University of Toronto. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting students with mental health disabilities and ensuring their academic success.
Key Responsibilities- Student Support: Provide comprehensive support to students with mental health disabilities, including assessing their needs, developing and implementing accommodation plans, and coordinating with faculty and staff to ensure a smooth academic experience.
- Accommodation Planning: Develop and implement accommodation plans that meet the unique needs of each student, taking into account their mental health disability and academic goals.
- Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with students, faculty, and staff to ensure that accommodation plans are implemented and that students receive the support they need to succeed.
- Case Management: Manage a caseload of students with mental health disabilities, providing ongoing support and guidance to ensure their academic success.
- Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with best practices in disability support and mental health, and participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
- Master's Degree: A Master's degree in a relevant field, such as education, social work, or psychology.
- Experience: A minimum of four years of experience working in a disability support or mental health role, preferably in a post-secondary setting.
- Knowledge and Skills: Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing accommodation plans, assessing student needs, and providing support to students with mental health disabilities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff.
- Cultural Competence: A commitment to cultural competence and the ability to work effectively with students from diverse backgrounds.
