As an Emergency Department Nurse Specialist at Headwaters Health Care Centre, you will be part of a dynamic team working together to provide the best possible care for our patients. Your skills and expertise will make a significant difference in the lives of those we serve.
About the RoleThis is a full-time position that requires a high level of autonomy and responsibility. As a Registered Nurse with experience in the Emergency Department, you will be accountable for providing general and specialized nursing duties according to established standards.
- Provide high-quality patient care in the Emergency Department
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date with industry developments
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Current certification with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Experience in the Emergency Department (preferably 1-2 years)
- CTAS Triage Certification (within 6 months)
- Medical Directives Certification (within 6 months)
- Acls certification and experience
- CPR certification
- Delegated Controlled Act - Defibrillation
- IV Therapy initiation and maintenance (Parenteral Therapy)
- Trauma Management course or equivalent (preferred)
- Coronary Care course - Level 1 or equivalent
- Ability to work independently under medical directives
- Excellent customer service skills
- Demonstrated critical thinking decision-making skills
