Take on a Critical Role in Exploration Health and Safety

A critical role has become available at Agnico Eagle as a Health and Safety Administrator, reporting directly to the Exploration Superintendent and H&S Coordinator. This position is responsible for overseeing health and safety performance and providing support for the Surface Exploration Group at various work sites.

This leadership position plays a key part in successfully running health and safety management systems within the Exploration Department. As a representative of Agnico Eagle, you will promote and respect the company's values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct, and the environment while ensuring goals and objectives are achieved.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain safety standards and track/investigate accidents; compile statistics;
  • Develop and implement site-specific inductions and training programs to meet departmental standards;
  • Design site-specific Inductions and write SOPs/guidelines for surface exploration activities, primarily drilling related;
  • Orient employees on safe work practices and procedures;
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety Management programs;
  • Prepare safety-related reports;
  • Collaborate with teams to plan, develop, and implement health and safety programs;
  • Assist with training initiatives to enhance KL Gold H&S team health, safety, and wellness;
  • Identify, monitor, and correct health and safety hazards;
  • Provide technical advice on health and safety matters;
  • Enforce employee adherence to safety regulations and protocols;
  • Implement strategies to improve overall workplace safety conditions.

Requirements:

  • Minimum High School Diploma required;
  • Degree or Diploma in OHS considered a significant asset;
  • CRSP Designation an asset;
  • Experience in Surface Exploration activities, particularly with surface drilling and collaboration with drill contractors;
  • Solid knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations for Mines and Mining Plants essential;
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Suite and EHS software;
  • Leadership skills and strong verbal/written communication abilities;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications, especially Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Salary: $85,000 - $115,000 per annum, commensurate with experience, based on industry standards and expectations.
