We are seeking a Group Underwriter to join our team. In this role, you will work with the Group Underwriting team to ensure Medavie Blue Cross achieves its financial targets on the group health, life, and disability income lines of business.

Key Responsibilities:

* Establish renewal pricing, analyzing experience and trends to justify reasons behind renewal and recommend pricing alternatives.
* Establish rates for new group business and respond to financial questions within specifications.
* Prepare financial statements for ASO and Retention groups in accordance with financial agreements.
* Draft and update financial agreements.
* Ensure underwriting targets are met for growth and profitability.
* Develop and maintain direct relationships with clients and producers.
* Collaborate with internal sales staff, case management, group administration, and the agent/broker/consultant network.

Qualifications:

* Post-secondary education.
* Minimum of two years in Group Underwriting experience.
* Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Word.
* Bilingualism (French and English) is considered an asset.

* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Self-directed with high levels of personal accountability and responsibility.
* Excellent reasoning, judgment, and decision-making abilities.
