We are currently recruiting for an immediate opening as a Research and Development Metallurgy Engineer at a metallurgy company based in Ville Saint-Laurent.

Your Role: Reporting to the Director of R&D, you will be responsible for conducting design, prototyping, and analysis activities for developing new diamond tools according to established priorities. You will also monitor client needs, gather feedback from internal sales teams and technicians to support business development, characterize, analyze, and design metallic and composite materials produced through powder metallurgy, collaborate with technicians to conduct field tests on mining exploration sites, identify and manage R&D partnerships, keep up-to-date with technological trends and patents, provide technical training, participate in field technician meetings, assist the procurement department, conduct material property studies, contribute to credit and grant application processes, and support the production and quality departments.

Your Profile: Ideally, 7 years of experience, but open to 5 years. Bilingual in English and French is required for this position. The use of English is necessary for communication with international customers, working with English-speaking partners, drafting documents in English, and maintaining relationships with suppliers and partners. A university degree in materials engineering or metallurgy is essential, along with relevant production experience and extensive knowledge of safety standards. Experience in powder metallurgy or heavy industry is required.

Benefits: This is a permanent full-time position with a competitive salary of $85,000 to $100,000 depending on experience. Annual bonus, medical, dental, life, and travel insurance, free on-site parking, and a pension plan with employer matching contributions are all included.
