Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Medical Radiation Therapist to join our team at Surrey's BC Cancer Centre. The successful candidate will have a strong background in radiation therapy, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care.

The ideal candidate will have experience in treatment planning, delivery, and follow-up, as well as a strong understanding of radiation oncology principles and practices. A strong commitment to ongoing learning and professional development is essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide patient care by performing duties such as patient assessment, reviewing patient and family history, educating patients and families on treatment process and side effects, and recommending self-care measures.
  • Consult with and/or refer patients to members of other healthcare disciplines as required.
  • Perform treatment planning procedures by reviewing, interpreting, and implementing radiation treatment prescriptions for brachytherapy and external beam radiation therapy.
  • Maintain accurate treatment records and evaluate the patient's understanding of treatment and side effects.
Requirements
  • Degree in Radiation Therapy or recognized certificate and Canadian Association for Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) certification.
  • Within the preceding five years, the successful completion of Radiation Therapy training program or active employment as a Radiation Therapist.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with patients, families, staff, physicians, and other healthcare providers.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $83,000 - $108,000 per year, depending on experience. Additionally, we provide:
