Job Summary

We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our team in Powell River, BC. As a Public Health Nurse with VCH, you will promote and protect the optimal health, well-being, and safety of prenatal, infants, young children, youth, adults, and families at all ages and life stages through selected and targeted programming.

Duties

  • Utilize public health nursing knowledge and expertise to provide a full continuum of services including prevention, health promotion, and early intervention services to individuals/groups in a variety of community-based settings using an equity-based approach to support population health and mitigate the impacts of the social determinants of health with equity-deserving populations.
  • Establish and maintain interdisciplinary and community relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Identify clients as individuals/community/systems and determine necessary interventions using a continuum of public health nursing interventions such as screening, assessment, referral, advocacy, surveillance, and monitoring, education, consultation, and respond to public health emerging issues.

Working Conditions

The hours of work, including days off, and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes.

Salary

The salary range for this position is CAD $41.42/Hr. - CAD $55.91/Hr.

Qualifications

  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Completion of specialty nursing certificate/certified practice (BCCNM), as applicable, and two (2) years' recent, related public health nursing experience, including experience related to the designated client population, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Valid BC Driver's license and access to a personal vehicle for business-related purposes.
