Job Title: Spiritual Health Practitioner

At the Health Sciences Centre, we are seeking a skilled Spiritual Health Practitioner to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing spiritual care and support to our patients, families, and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and respond to the spiritual needs of patients, families, and staff in a compassionate and culturally sensitive manner.
  • Develop and implement spiritual care plans that promote holistic well-being and resilience.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide spiritual support and guidance.
  • Provide education and training on spiritual care and cultural safety.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance spiritual care services.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as spirituality, theology, or counseling.
  • Supervised clinical experience in a healthcare environment.
  • Active membership in a professional organization with a Code of Ethics.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience working in a healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of cultural safety and Indigenous cultural practices.
  • Training in grief and loss, crisis care, and counseling.
