Course Description:


A survey of major programming paradigms, with emphasis on the functional paradigm. Discussion of data typing, program decomposition, scoping rules, control structures, and parameter passing.


Programming languages will likely include commercially important functional languages such as Haskell, Clojure, and Erlang, with examples of others as time permits.


Course Delivery:


The course delivery will be online, in-person, or hybrid at the sole discretion of the hiring unit.


Requirements:


A PhD or equivalent in a field related to the target course is required.


Teaching Experience:


Teaching the target or similar course at Toronto Metropolitan University or another university is required.


Practice Field Experience:


A minimum of 6-10 years of current practice in a related field is required.


Currency:


Academic publications in the past 5 years or current professional profile is required.
