We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Engineer to join our team at Amazon Development Centre Canada ULC. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge software solutions that power Amazon's global fulfillment network.
Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing scalable software services and tools from scratch, improving existing systems, and creating simple solutions for complex business and operational problems.
Key Responsibilities:
- BUILD NEW SOFTWARE SERVICES AND TOOLS FROM SCRATCH AND IMPROVE EXISTING SYSTEMS
- CREATE SIMPLE SOLUTIONS FOR COMPLEX BUSINESS AND OPERATIONAL PROBLEMS
- WORK CLOSELY WITH BUSINESS, PHYSICAL PROCESSES, AND OPERATIONS TO OPTIMIZE SYSTEMS AND PROCESSES
- DESIGN AND IMPLEMENT SCALABLE SOLUTIONS AND SOLVE COMPLEX PROBLEMS
- LEARN HOW TO BUILD ROBUST SOLUTIONS THAT OPERATE AT AMAZON SCALE
- DISEGN SYSTEMS, TAKE MISSION CRITICAL DECISIONS ON HOW WE DESIGN PRODUCTION SYSTEMS, WHAT TECHNOLOGY TO USE AND HOW TO SOLVE PROBLEMS
- OPERATE IN A SET OF INTERCONNECTED SMALL TEAMS OF ENGINEERS TO BUILD SOLUTIONS THAT IMPACT AMAZON'S CUSTOMERS AROUND THE WORLD
- GET OPPORTUNITY TO WORK WITH SENIOR TECHNICAL LEADERS TO REVIEW AND IMPROVE YOUR DESIGNS AND SOLUTIONS

Requirements
- 3+ YEARS OF NON-INTERNSHIP PROFESSIONAL SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT EXPERIENCE
- 2+ YEARS OF NON-INTERNSHIP DESIGN OR ARCHITECTURE (DESIGN PATTERNS, RELIABILITY AND SCALING) OF NEW AND EXISTING SYSTEMS EXPERIENCE
- EXPERIENCE PROGRAMMING WITH AT LEAST ONE SOFTWARE PROGRAMMING LANGUAGE
Estimated Salary: $140,000 - $200,000 per year
