Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Laboratory Specialist to join our team in Westman Lab - Histology. As a General Duty Medical Laboratory Technologist, you will be responsible for clinical analysis and reporting on patient samples according to established protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform laboratory tests and procedures in accordance with professional and provincial guidelines
  • Maintain a safe environment and ensure compliance with quality assurance programs and accreditation standards
  • Assist in general lab projects such as SOPs, chemical inventories, and other administrative tasks
Qualifications and Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A graduate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from an approved program
  • Current registration or eligibility for registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Manitoba (CMLTM)
  • Membership with the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) is considered an asset
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and oral
Working Conditions

This role requires working shifts, weekends, and holidays may be required, and exposure to all hazards and dangers inherent in working in a laboratory. A current satisfactory Criminal Records Check, Child Abuse Registry Check, and Adult Abuse Registry Check are conditions of employment.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is $85,000-$110,000 per annum, depending on experience. This position also offers comprehensive benefits, including health and dental insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.
