Job Summary

As a key member of the Great Canadian Entertainment team, the Front of House Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of the front of house Food & Beverage operations at a multi-venue location. This role ensures adherence to all policies and procedures, motivates and leads by example, and provides a learning environment while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members and guests.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Oversee the front of house F&B operations on a shift basis, assisting with the development of performance objectives and delivering performance reviews for direct reports as necessary.
  2. Schedule and supervise team members, verifying time and attendance, assigning shift work assignments, and ensuring appropriate coverage while minimizing operating costs.
  3. Complete shift reports for management and for the next shift, tracking quality and guest issues, and reporting to management.
  4. Assist with the screening and selection of new hires, organizing and tracking training progress.
  5. Assess guest alcohol consumption to determine removal or restriction decisions and deliver messages to guests.
  6. Order front of house supplies as required, participating in monthly inventory counts.
  7. Perform front-line F&B duties as required, including Coffee Cart Server, Bartender, Expediter.
  8. Offer F&B expertise to internal and external customers.
  9. Liaise and communicate effectively with all operational departments and team members.
  10. Develop and cultivate strong working relationships with all stakeholders: guests, management, team members, and vendors.
  11. Ensure compliance with licensing laws, health and safety, and other statutory regulations.
  12. Manage other initiatives as required.

Education and Qualifications

  1. High School diploma; Post-Secondary education in hospitality or suitable combination of education and experience.
  2. 2 years Food & Beverage experience.
  3. 2 years experience in a lead or supervisory role.
  4. POS experience.
  5. WHMIS an asset.
  6. Ability to successfully obtain a Gaming License.
  7. Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective, and service-oriented communication.
  8. Computer literacy in MS Office.
  9. Bilingual (English/French) is an asset but not required.

Work Environment Considerations

  1. Regular office, restaurant, or casino environment, standing or walking for long periods, some exposure to noise, odors, some exposure to verbal abuse, non-traditional work hours.
