About the Position

We are seeking an experienced IT Director to join our team at the British Columbia Teachers' Federation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and oversee the operation of IT services and support across the Federation.
  • Plan, organize, and implement technology projects to enhance digital communications, information access, and user experience.
  • Collaborate with the Treasurer to forecast Federation needs and develop optimized plans and budgets.
  • Research, design, and implement technology to improve processes and ensure operational viability of the LAN during all business hours.
  • Develop business cases for technology acquisitions and manage relationships with vendors to ensure cost-effective purchases.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of work experience in IT management, including 5 years of leadership or supervisory experience in a unionized environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or software engineering.
  • Considerable technical knowledge and business acumen in managing complex IT projects, designing networks, operating systems, server architecture, VPNs, firewalls, encryption, and network security technologies.
