NBS STEEL FRAMING & DRYWALL LTD. is seeking a skilled Drywall Installation Specialist to join our team. As a Drywall Installation Specialist, you will be responsible for installing drywall sheets, taping joints, and applying successive coats of compound to create smooth surfaces.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Measure, cut, and install drywall sheets to ensure a precise fit.
  • Tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound to create a seamless finish.
  • Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints to achieve a smooth surface.
  • Cure freshly plastered surfaces to ensure durability and longevity.
  • Install suspended metal ceiling grids and place in panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings.
  • Fabricate and install ornamental plaster panels, cornices, and trim to add a touch of elegance to our projects.
  • Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists to ensure a sturdy installation.
  • Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry to prevent any imperfections.
  • Spray acoustic or texture materials over walls and ceilings to create a unique and functional design.
  • Attach metal or gypsum lath to studs or furring to provide a solid base for our drywall installations.
  • Install acoustic tile, hangers for suspended ceilings, and metal studs for composition wallboard or lath to enhance the overall aesthetic and functionality of our projects.
  • Install corner beads and wire mesh around beams to which plaster is to be applied to ensure a secure and durable installation.
  • Install exterior and interior steel studs to provide a sturdy framework for our drywall installations.
  • Install metal stud framing and furring for interior drywall or plaster walls and ceilings, using hand and power tools to ensure precision and accuracy.
  • Prepare wall and ceiling layouts to ensure a seamless and efficient installation process.
  • Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages, to complete our drywall installations with precision and accuracy.
  • Erect and install scaffolding, falsework, and other working platforms to ensure a safe and efficient installation process.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications to ensure a precise and accurate installation.

Requirements:

  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in drywall installation.

Work Term: Permanent

Work Language: English

Hours: 40 hours per week
