About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Intermediate Programmer Analyst to join our technology team at Medavie Blue Cross. As a key member of our digital health solutions team, you will be responsible for developing cutting-edge software applications that improve the wellbeing of Canadians.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade software applications using Java and Open Source technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality digital health solutions that meet the needs of our clients.
  • Participate in requirement analysis, design, and code reviews to ensure solutions are secure, reliable, and performant.
  • Develop and maintain applications using Java, Spring Framework, Oracle, XML, JSON, Junit, and numerous JavaScript libraries.
  • Familiarity with commonly used IDE tools like Eclipse/Intellij, Database tools like PL-SQL Developer, and version control tools like Github.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 or more years of experience building enterprise-grade or web-scale software using Java and Open Source technologies.
  • Due to security clearance reasons, you must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident with at least 5 years of residency in Canada.
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in business, technology, or a relevant field, or equivalent working experience.
  • Strong conceptualization ability, excellent ability to translate abstract ideas into working, high-quality code.
  • Highly collaborative and capable of working in a fast-paced and dynamic team environment.

Security Clearance Requirement

In conjunction with our contract with the Federal Government, you will be required to have Reliability Status Clearance (Enhanced Level B) prior to your start date. This includes fingerprinting, criminal record check, credit check, and you must have resided in Canada for at least 5 years and hold Permanent Resident or Citizenship Status.
