Job Summary

The IT Project Manager will be responsible for leading the designated portfolio in support of technology solutions within healthcare across the province. This includes supervising staff, developing and improving technology service business processes and practices, and ensuring timely execution of service requests and incident resolution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight of day-to-day operations for a designated team to drive operational excellence and ensure alignment with quality of service and device management roll-out and operations.
  • Conduct analysis of current situation and future requirements of the portfolio, set specific goals and objectives aligned to overall strategic direction, and determine priorities for planning and implementing strategies in collaboration with key partners and stakeholders.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to assigned staff using effective management techniques to support achievement of required outcomes and ensure staff members are achieving highest standards within their areas of function.
  • Evaluate individual and team performance in collaboration with appropriate stakeholders and peer staff, ensuring probationary and annual reviews are completed for assigned staff. Handle grievances and investigate work and staff issues, and initiate disciplinary action up to and including terminations.
  • Prepare and manage annual operating budget for designated services, monitor variances, and develop and execute corrective actions.
  • Develop effective partnerships with stakeholders, including healthcare service providers, vendors, and outside contractors, aligned with established service level agreements.
  • Develop and use metrics and key performance indicators to identify performance issues or variances, develop and implement strategies to address and improve performance.
  • Establish disciplines and processes required to manage all aspects of device lifecycle management shared service to minimize support costs and technical complexity while supporting Health Authority business requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor management processes according to Risk Management Plan and Quality Management and Assurance Plan.
  • Proactively investigate and prepare for new device management technologies and platforms that may require unique images.

Requirements

  • Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Business, or related field, plus five years recent related experience in large, complex, multi-site organizations, including a minimum of five years in a progressively responsible leadership role.
  • Team player with well-developed interpersonal and communication skills and proven experience managing and coaching teams for high performance.
  • Customer-focused with ability to facilitate and encourage cooperation between diverse operational groups and skill sets.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships.
  • Critical thinking skills and proven ability to effectively manage human and fiscal resources.
  • Proven technology background with solid understanding of infrastructure and technology frameworks, such as Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL).
  • Extensive understanding and experience managing device and related technologies. Relevant industry certifications, such as Microsoft Certified System Engineer.
