Job Summary

We are seeking a Co-Op Student to assist in the development of new customer projects at AltaLink's Customer Project Development Group.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the development, scoping, estimating, scheduling, and customer expectations for multiple projects seeking to expand AltaLink's transmission system.
  • Assist the team in developing these projects, managing the portfolio reports, leading the project through governance meetings, meeting with customers to understand requirements and document accountabilities, and preparing cost estimates and risk evaluations in conjunction with team members.
  • Manage information about the overall Project Development Portfolio, including reporting and initiation of new projects in multiple data sets.
  • Prepare information packages for project governance review.
  • Assist in financial management of projects and the creation of monthly cost forecasts.
  • Assist in the creation of applications for regulatory approvals.
  • Manage and coordinate multiple customers and changing priorities.
  • Manage and communicate with consultants and AltaLink project team members on project scope, objectives, accountabilities, and commitments.
Requirements
  • An Engineering student who has completed two or more years of study and is enrolled in an Internship program at a recognized University.
  • A valid Alberta Class 5 driver's license.
  • Proven ability/experience in the above noted responsibilities.
  • Experience working with Substation engineering/construction would be an asset.
  • Project Management experience would be an asset.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interface with team members and customers to promote positive customer outcomes.
  • Superior organizational and time management skills.
  • Capable of managing multiple competing priorities.
  • Experience working in SAP would be an asset.
  • Proven track record of good performance and attendance.
