Financial Leadership Role in Home Care

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team at Kindred Home Care, a rapidly expanding company with a workforce of nearly 1000 passionate employees.
Our ambition is bold: we aim to offer 3,600,000 hours of care each year across multiple provinces by 2030. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent analytical skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing general accounting activities, preparing financial reports, leading the team while ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations.
The estimated salary for this role is $120,000 per year, commensurate with experience. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements.
- Lead month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts, bank statements, and sub-ledgers.
- Assist in budget and forecast preparation.
- Support external audits.
- Ensure tax compliance and assist with tax preparation.
- Analyze financial data for profitability opportunities.
- Implement internal controls and ensure policy compliance.
- Identify and implement process improvements.
- Collaborate with other departments for financial guidance and support.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA certification is highly preferred.
- 5-7 years of relevant accounting experience
- 2 years in a senior or supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
- Experience with financial modeling and data analysis.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and build positive working relationships across the organization.
