As we continue to grow rapidly, we're expanding our team to build a larger mixed-use residential portfolio in the Greater Toronto Area.

We're looking for a highly motivated Senior Financial Director to join our team. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a strong understanding of financial data analysis. You'll work closely with our Vice President of Finance and be part of a fast-paced environment with immense growth opportunities.

As a Senior Financial Director, you'll be responsible for ensuring consistent corporate financial strategy through various avenues, including managing and allocating accounts, financial statements, and tax data.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and support short-term operational strategies.
  • Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate the operation of an accounting, audit, or other financial department.
  • Guide financial decisions by applying company policies and procedures to the current economic landscape.
  • Develop and implement the financial policies, systems, and procedures for the company.
  • Evaluate the financial reporting systems, accounting procedures, and investment activities and make recommendations for changes to procedures, operating systems, budgets, and other financial control functions to senior managers and other department regional managers.
Financial Reporting:
  • Establish (in coordination with CFO) financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, program monitoring, and reporting standards on a biweekly, monthly, and annual basis.
  • Manage the monthly reporting requirements as required.
  • Assist in the development of a KPI Financial Reporting model.
  • Manage the annual budgeting requirements for the operating companies.
  • Manage and assist with quarterly investor package preparation.
  • Manage the annual year-end audit process.
  • Achieve budgeting goals with proper scheduling, analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with all government filings and remittances (HST, WSIB, EHT, etc.).
Estimated Salary:

$120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, or related discipline.
  • Accounting designation (CA, CMA, CGA), or an equivalent combination of related experience and education.
  • Minimum 5 years accounting experience in a senior accounting or financial management role with at least two years of experience in human resources.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, directed, and starter individual.
  • Impeccable analytical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work closely with senior management team.

Technical Skills:

  • Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, and Excel), Intermediate level
  • Experience with Jonas Premier Software, ADP, and QuickBooks and asset.
