Job Description

The Media Investment Specialist will be responsible for negotiating media campaigns directly with sales representatives, purchasing assigned media to campaign parameters, and developing a media schedule that satisfies campaign parameters and brand objectives.

This role requires strong analytical and financial acumen, with excellent communication skills and the ability to work well and multi-task. The ideal candidate will have a driven desire to develop and excel in a media career, with a passion for continuous development and a proactive approach to problem solving.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Negotiate media campaigns directly with sales representatives.
  2. Purchase all assigned media to campaign parameters.
  3. Develop a media schedule that satisfies campaign parameters and brand objectives.
  4. Address market concerns, timing, and brand attribution with the media planning team.
  5. Prepare and present pre-buy and post-buy reports.
  6. Upload media buys and track changes with a high level of accuracy.
  7. Solve and clear billing discrepancies/queries, and manage the budget control report (BCR) in a timely manner.
  8. Execute all relevant revisions to the media buy.
  9. Negotiate compensation as required.
  10. Ensure clear communication with the planning teams.
  11. Assist the Senior Buyer on the evaluation or cost value analysis of sponsorships and integrations.
  12. Explore promotional or value-added opportunities.
  13. Proactively advise the team of any variations to execution of media plans.
  14. Assist with training junior employees on tools and processes.
  15. Assist with the preparation of media POVs.
  16. Prepare market analyses.
  17. Conduct third party audits as required.


Requirements
  1. Post-secondary education or equivalent professional experience.
  2. Minimum one (1) year experience within the media industry with proven buying experience.
  3. Drives desire to develop and excel in a media career.
  4. Client service oriented.
  5. Strong analytical and financial acumen.
  6. Strong learning agility.
  7. Excellent communication skills.
  8. Highly developed organizational skills.
  9. Excellent ability to manage and prioritize time effectively.
  10. Ability to work well and multi-task.

  13. Ability to negotiate effectively.
  14. Ability to develop and foster relationships with media partners.
  15. Proficient with media research tools.
  16. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
