The University Health Network, a leading academic medical imaging department in Canada, seeks an exceptional PET-MR Research Specialist to join our esteemed team. With over 750,000 exams annually, we set the standard for clinical excellence and innovation.

About the Role:

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual to support both MRI and PET functions in our Research Division. The successful candidate will play a key role in performing PET-MRI and MRI procedures, ensuring safety standards, operating medical imaging equipment, and preparing reports.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform PET-MRI and MRI procedures to aid in patient diagnosis, intervention, and treatment.
  • Evaluate and maintain MRI Safety Standards of Practice at all times.
  • Operate, troubleshoot, and ensure safe functioning of medical imaging and ancillary equipment.
  • Prepare written and electronic reports required to document procedures and test results.
  • Participate in research meetings, assist in manuscript preparation, and contribute to data processing.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A recognized post-diploma program in MRI or equivalent with MRI certification.
  • Certification in Nuclear Medicine from a recognized academic institution.
  • Completion of Cross-section Anatomy course and contrast injection course.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification (Level C).
  • Minimum three years recent clinical MRI experience.
  • Registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO).
  • Membership with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT).
