Your Mission

The Demonware data team creates services and infrastructure that ingest billions of events from our games daily. We empower our engineers to flex their creative muscles, and when we get things right, analysts, studios, and developers can rapidly go from question to insight without needing to interact with us.

We're looking for a data engineer to become a cornerstone of our data management strategy. In this role, you'll run sophisticated data pipelines and ensure compliance with data governance standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior data engineers, promoting a culture of excellence and growth.
  • Engage with customers to facilitate compliant access to sensitive data.
  • Lead all aspects of the management and optimization of data pipelines for compliance processing within our data ecosystem.
  • Collaborate with our SRE team to develop and maintain a robust and compliant data infrastructure with minimal friction.
  • Build APIs for integration with our internal systems and third-parties.
  • Maintain data quality and pursue continuous improvement and innovation in data governance practices.

About You

  • 7-8 years of experience in data engineering or a related field.
  • Comfortable with one or more computer programming languages such as Java, Kotlin, Scala, Python, etc.
  • Experience in production with cloud computing platforms like AWS, GCP, Azure.
  • Expertise in both streaming and batch-based streaming technologies including Flink, Kafka, Spark.
  • Production experience with version control tools and a validated understanding of containerization, build, and deployment processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical skills, and ability to navigate ambiguity in an effort to provide efficient solutions for sophisticated problems.
  • Familiar with privacy legislation and its implications on data collection, reporting, and compliance.
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work with data partners independently.

  • Previous experience in leading compliance-related initiatives relating directly to data and privacy legislation.
