At AltaML, we're shaping the future of public sector innovation through applied AI. As an Associate Machine Learning Developer, you'll join our dynamic team to deliver real-world solutions to our public sector partners, including Service Alberta and other government departments.

Project Overview

We're working on a 4-month contract starting in January 2025, focusing on developing machine learning models to support informed strategic decision-making in the public sector. Your expertise will be invaluable in uncovering trends, insights, and key features to guide where ML solutions can be applied.

Your Responsibilities

  • Work in teams to pre-process data for analysis and model development
  • Develop models around available data and suggested problem sets
  • Get familiar with data processing tools and AI/ML algorithms
  • Independently research and connect with your cohort to gain domain knowledge and learn state-of-the-art techniques

Requirements

  • General knowledge of Python and data science libraries/packages (pandas, scikit-learn, matplotlib)
  • Understanding of Machine Learning and software development concepts
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week during the internship
  • Exposure to version control/Git
