Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Transportation Specialist to join our team at Warner Industries. As a key member of our transportation department, you will be responsible for transporting students safely and efficiently.

About the Role

The successful candidate will possess a valid Class 5/5F/G Licence (cars, small trucks and other 2-axle vehicles) with a School Bus Endorsement. They will also have excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work independently, and maintain control of student activities during travel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate buses, school buses or streetcars to transport passengers
  • Report delays, mechanical problems and accidents
  • Complete logbooks and reports
  • Communicate with passengers, dispatchers or other drivers using two-way radio systems
  • Ensure children's safety when boarding and leaving buses and crossing street while bus is stopped
  • Maintain control of student activities during travel to prevent distractions or behaviours that could compromise safety
  • Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
