The Opportunity:

  • Reporting to the Maintenance Manager and Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairs, and installations of processing equipment with a strong understanding of electrical systems to ensure efficient repair and replacement results.
  • You will carry out oral/electronic work requests and apply corrective measures in a timely fashion, applying your knowledge of mechanical requirements to resolve issues.
  • Your above-average grasp of related mechanical requirements will enable you to apply corrective measures effectively, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum productivity.
  • Performing preventative maintenance and regular Work Orders, you will account for inventory and labor while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
  • You will also be responsible for welding repairs and/or fabrication of equipment parts to Food Safety Standards, utilizing your extensive mechanical knowledge including power transmission, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
  • Your ability to read and understand mechanical drawings/schematics will enable you to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Machining and fabricating for equipment repair and/or upgrades, you will work closely with the Maintenance Team and Production to ensure seamless operations.
  • You will communicate daily repair activity with the team and adhere to all plant Food/Health and Safety Policies.
  • In addition, you will input notes, labour hours, and parts used into the plant's SAP computerized maintenance system.
  • Fulfilling all Health and Safety, Food Safety, HACCP, WHIMS, MSDS, and BRC requirements, you will contribute to a safe and healthy work environment.

What You'll Bring:

  • Poultry processing and food production experience is an asset, but not required.
  • Ability to work shifts on a 24-hour/7-day week, rotating shifts, is essential.
  • Journeyman Red Seal Certificate holder for a minimum of 2 years is a requirement.
  • Accustomed to working with an SAP-based computerized maintenance and inventory reporting system.
  • Excellent English verbal and written skills are necessary for effective communication.
  • A self-directed/motivated team player open to new technology, with a sense of urgency and attention to detail.
  • Able to work effectively in a high-pressure production environment.
  • Strength and stamina required to work with heavy equipment weighing over 25 kilograms.
  • Must have a full complement of personal/professional hand tools identified specifically for the Food Safety program.
  • Candidates must be able to work a Sunday – Thursday schedule from 9:00pm - 5:30am.

Salary Estimate:

We offer a competitive salary in the range of $60,000 - $80,000 per annum, based on experience.
