Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Machinist to join our team at FIX-IT TRUCK AND TRAILER REPAIR INC. as an Automotive Manufacturing Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining machine tools, reading and interpreting engineering drawings, and ensuring the quality of manufactured parts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain machine tools, including conventional and computer-controlled equipment
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts, and tables to ensure accurate production
  • Measure and lay out work pieces in preparation for assembly
  • Repair and maintain machine tools and parts
  • Set up and adjust production machinery and tools
  • Fabricate and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerance
  • Maintain and calibrate precision measuring instruments
  • Document and report deviations from specifications and tolerances
  • Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments
  • Set up and operate conventional and computer-controlled machine tools
Requirements
  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Physical stamina to perform tasks that require standing for extended periods and lifting up to 9 kg (20 lbs)
Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment with a focus on quality and precision. The work setting will involve working with various machine tools and equipment, and the candidate must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
